This week I recived my George Ezra tickets, so I want to talk about him, his career and my experience.
George Ezra is a 21-years-old boy from Bristol (UK). His real name is George Barnett and he was born the 7 june 1993. His first songs are Angry Hill and Broken, but he started play the guitar when he was 12/13. He says that he takes ispiration for his songs from the conversations he hears into pubs or café.
I personally think that he is fantastic and one of the best singers of the contemporary music scene.
To be honest at the beginning I didn't like him so much. I mean: I thought that his music (at that time I knew only Budapest, because it switches on MTV Push like every 20 min) was boring and repetitive.
Fortunately I had the chance to know more about him and his songs. In March I bought my Bastille's tickets and, as some of you probably know, George Ezra had to open the concert for Bastille. So, some days before the concert, I decided to listen to some of his other songs, and then I found out Cassy O' and Did You Hear The Rain?. They were completely AMAZING and I fell in love with them.
Finally the long-awaited day arrived. I had the chance to see and to talk with Bastille before and after the gig (but this is another story) and then, after more than 10h in the queue, George Ezra came on the stage. He introduces himself and then started singing and playing his guitar. Everything was perfect and, even if he was standing alone, with his guitar, in front of a huge crowd, he was able to make everyone dance and have fun and he never stopped thanking us.
This year, after 2 others gigs in November in Milan, he decided to add a date in Ferrara. I know that I've seen him yet, but I'm sure that it would be different, but fantastic as always.
I need to say that he has been always thankful towords Italy. In fact it has been Sony Italy that discovered him and decided to bet on Budapest, which is one of his most succesful songs and last year one of his first gig ever has been in Ferrara, Italy.
Here one of his tweet about Italy that makes me emotional so bad.
I definetely can't wait to see him, also because Ferrara is a really important city to me, and George's gig will be exactly 4 days before the Bastille's gig anniversary.
LET'S BE EMOTIONAL !!!
